The annual Academic Advising Summit was established in 2012 to support the development and implementation of an exemplary academic advising program as an institutional strategy to improve student learning, student retention, and student success, and supporting the University's goal for attaining higher retention and graduation rates. 

Sponsored by the Provost's Office and chaired by the WSU-AAC, this is a collaborative, interactive event where participants have the opportunity to understand the national perspective on the importance of academic advising for student success, participate in sessions demonstrating best practices at Wayne State, and share ideas with advising colleagues across campus. It also serves as the WSU-AAC's annual meeting.
