ATA: Tell us a little bit about your educational background and experiences and how they relate to your current position.

AA: I am thrilled to introduce myself as a passionate and dedicated social work professional with a strong background in supporting students and individuals with mental health concerns. Equipped with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and a Master of Social Work (MSW), I am eager to utilize my education and experiences to excel as a College Success Coach at the college of Social Work.

Throughout my academic journey, I have immersed myself in the study of social work principles, and interventions. My time as a school social worker allowed me to witness the unique challenges students face. These experiences ignited a desire to provide support to help them navigate academic hurdles and personal growth. Moreover, my work with individuals dealing with mental health issues has allowed me hone in on my skills to create empathetic and non-judgmental environments, fostering a sense of safety and trust, essential for anyone seeking assistance.

I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to empower students throughout their college journey as it is my passion to inspire positive change.

ATA: When you are not advising, what are some things you like to do for fun?

AA: When I'm not advising or coaching, you can find me at the gym or catching up on the latest action or Marvel movie. During my down time, I also like to explore various coffee shops in the Metro Detroit area, savoring the unique and delicious flavors that they have to offer.
