- For SAP appeals, advisors should always create a plan of work for a student that will cover the time period it will take for a student to reach SAP.
- Plans should be locked by the advisor and include realistic academic goals for students.
- Advisors should provide a comment explaining why a plan does not cover a period of time for the student to complete SAP if they are unable to do so.
- Students that were at a full-time student status (12 minimum credits) at the census date will still be considered a full-time student for that semester if they withdraw from a course after the census date and are no longer earning a minimum of 12 credit hours in a semester.
- Meaning students will meet the full-status requirement for scholarship renewal that semester, but students will still be required to meet the total credit hour requirements for their scholarship renewal.
- Students withdrawing from multiple or all courses in a semester should still be referred to the Financial Aid Office to see how that will affect their financial aid status.
- The Financial Aid Office has updated the format of the freshmen and transfer scholarship renewal requirements.
- Students can get information and apply for CARES Act and Emergency Grant funding here.
- The Student Success Center has created new phone procedures that are reducing phone call wait times by giving students the option to schedule a call back.
- Latonia Garrett (ey1566@wayne.edu) welcomes emails from advisors about student issues with the Student Service Center. However, advisors should not refer students directly to Latonia. Please inform Latonia of the situation and she will work with SSC staff to make sure the student receives the help.
- Students will not be required to complete a SMART Check when withdrawing from a course in Winter 2021.
- The online SAP Appeal forms are here to stay and will be the preferred method of submitting SAP Appeal forms even after we all return to camp
