- Students that automatically qualified for CARES III funding should have already received their awards. Students that did not automatically qualify for CARES III can apply for it here.
- Financial Aid is currently working on revising and simplifying the scholarship renewal requirements policies. They are expecting to have the new policy in place by early December. For now, the following will be important for students to get scholarship renewals:
- The student needs to be a full-time student in the Fall and Winter semesters
- The student should be on track to graduate in four years. Meaning they are meeting the benchmarks of 30 total credit hours after their first year, 60 total credit hours after their second year, and 90 total credit hours after their third year.
- If a student was meeting the minimum reduced credit hour scholarship renewal requirements when the reduced scholarship renewal requirements were in place, then they will meet the scholarship renewal credit hours if they are at least earning 30 total credit hours for the 2021-2022 year. For example, A Fall 2020 FTIAC student that only completed 24 total credit hours last year will not need to get to 60 total credit hours by the end of the 2021-2022 academic year. That student will be renewed if they at least complete 30 credit hours, or 54 total credit hours, during the 2021-2022 year.
Things to mention to students in your appointments:
- The 2022-2023 FASFA is now open for students. Financial Aid has FASFA Fridays to help students with completing their FASFA for the 2021-2022 or 2022-2023 academic year. Information about FASFA Friday can be found here.
- Students need to complete any outstanding requirements as soon as possible to prevent a delay in financial aid disbursement. They can view their requirements in Academica in the Financial Aid Portal located under the Financial Aid tab. Please continue making an effort to mention this in your appointments.
- Remind students that N grades can affect a student’s ability to meet Standard Academic Progress (SAP) by lowering their pace.
- The new SSC phone system is in use and it allows students to elect to have a representative call them back when they are available. Students will need to stay on the line for a minimum of 6 minutes before getting an option to set up a call back appointment.
